Kelsey Skinner
about me
Kelsey Davey grew up in Orlando, Florida with her twin sister Sara and her 4 other siblings, Lindsay, Nick, Jake and Lauren. Kelsey and Sara went to a small, private school and were always together, and they made two halves of a whole. One loved English, the other science. One was artistic the other medical. When college rolled around, it was the first time they were separated, with Sara attending the University of Central Florida for physical therapy and Kelsey moving a state away to the Savannah College of Art and Design for animation.
Kelsey used her love of English and fiction to animate characters with life and expression. Ever since she was young she had been writing original stories in journals and online and she had always longed to see them brought to life on screen. It was her passion to see a character gain personality and breathe through animation, and it was even more exciting to see all the different scenes and expressions that could be created through the medium. She immediately knew she was in love and the career would be one that she wanted to be a part of for the rest of her life. She decided to focus on 3D Character animation at SCAD and helped work on collaborative films such as Guavo directed by Mitchell Sturtevant and Lumberjack Attack. She created the 3D Animated film Unbound, in which she did everything from concept to completion, with the help of her sound designer Abinav Narain.
In November 2016 Kelsey became happily married to Larry Skinner, and became Kelsey Skinner.
Currently, Kelsey works as an Instructional System Specialist II at FlightSafety International creating graphics and 3D renders for professional teaching materials. She has previously worked as a graphic designer at Nine Line Apparel making T-Shirt designs as well as creating advertising and marketing materials.
